Tracks of the Week: May 27 2014

Blanked out last week. Or rather, it occurred to me to post this blog but I was in the middle of rehearsing for my set on Saturday and then it never popped back into my head.

So…

Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers: “It’s Not Enough”:

Next song I’ll be working on for guitar. Simple but strong and moody, think it will fit in nicely to my live set once I get it mastered.

New York Dolls: “Talk to Me Baby”:

Live at the release party for their album Dancing Backward in High Heels in 2011.

Stiv Bators: “Evil Boy”:

Izzy Stradlin: “I Don’t Mind”:

The Rolling Stones: “Sympathy for the Devil”:

Live in Austin, Texas in 2006.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds: “The Curse of Milhaven”:

Van Halen: “I’m the One”:

Soundgarden: “Black Hole Sun”:

As I mentioned in my blog about the open mic I attended/participated in on Thursday, someone requested this song, and it was already on my to-learn list. Haven’t started on it yet, though.

The Best Revenge: “Harlot”:

Live at the Media Club in 2010.

Worked with these guys ages ago on some demos when I was at Nimbus, this week I’ve been digging this track off their 2011 album Young Nihilists’ Gun Club.

Other local pals of mine:

Left Spine Down: “Side Effect”:

New song, exclusively on the compilation Electronic Saviours III.
