Monday Nite Noise – April 16, 2012

Inspired by something I heard about industrial/experimental duo Smersh doing weekly Monday noise jams and improvs to work out new material and taping it the same night for release, this is part of my semi-weekly Monday Nite Noise series, everything from improv to spoken word to noise, bits of songs, etc.

This week’s piece is made of several layers of improvised synths. I shot 3 of the layers as I recorded them and Frankensteined the video together from that. Synths used: Korg MS2000, Roland SH32. Drums were built from samples within ProTools.

Monday Nite Noise – March 19, 2012

Took a few days to get around to getting it uploaded, but oh well.

Inspired by something I heard about industrial/experimental duo Smersh doing weekly Monday noise jams and improvs to work out new material and taping it the same night for release, I’m starting a new weekly post series, everything from improv to spoken word to noise, bits of songs, etc.

This week’s piece is constructed from layers of manipulations of a hunting call sample.

Monday Nite Noise – March 5, 2012

Finally got back into doing a Monday Nite Noise bit after the last month was nuts.

Tonight it was an improv on 3 synths [Korg MS2000, Roland Sh-32 and DSI MoPho] routed out to a couple small amps and miked. Then I decided to make that track into a bit of a canon.

Usual MNN notes: Inspired by something I heard about industrial/experimental duo Smersh doing weekly Monday noise jams and improvs to work out new material and taping it the same night for release, I’m starting a new weekly post series, everything from improv to spoken word to noise, bits of songs, etc.
